Our Vegetarian yoga retreat offers 5 days of relaxing and restorative practice in a stunning natural setting. Enjoy morning and afternoon yoga sessions led by Becky who has a British Wheel of Yoga teaching Diploma and has been running classes for 35 years. Over the last 20 years she has been a student of Ranju Roy (Yogamala).
Becky’s classes are designed and adapted to meet the ever-changing needs of her students. Her aim is to practice authentic western yoga that is respectful of its roots as well as being thoughtful, contemporary and ethical in its approach. Becky’s clear, staged instructions and her focus on the essentials of good practice mean that classes are suited to beginners as well as those with previous experience of yoga.
Feed both your body and soul with delicious, healthy food prepared by trained chef Marion. The vegetarian menu is prepared using fresh local ingredients including organic fruit and veg from our own kitchen garden. The menu can be adapted to cater for any special dietary needs (eg. gluten-free or vegan) and local organic wines are available to purchase.
What to expect
If you choose to fly from Bristol to Toulouse we’ll pick you up for the transfer to Ambeyrac (2 hours). You’ll arrive in plenty of time to settle in and enjoy a delicious 4 course dinner on the terrace. If you prefer to make your own travel arrangements we would be happy to pick you up from local train stations (Cahors or Villefranche-de-Rouergue).
During your stay Becky leads two yoga sessions per day, an invigorating one in the morning and a more relaxing, meditative one late afternoon. When possible these take place outside, around the pool or in the garden, otherwise we’ll use our airy, spacious yoga studio.
In between times there are optional excursions to some of the many beautiful places of interest in the region, including markets, medieval towns and historic villages. Or take a picnic lunch and discover the stunning scenery on one of the many walking paths that criss-cross the countryside, including the ancient pilgrims’ Path to Santiago de Compostella which passes near by.
Alternatively, put your feet up and relax by our heated pool and simply enjoy the peace and quiet.We’ll have time for yoga and breakfast on Thursday, before everyone heads back home.
Becky would like to minimise the negative environmental impact of travelling to Monplaisir. The course fee therefore includes a realistic contribution towards offsetting your carbon footprint through a tree-planting scheme.
What’s included? The holiday includes 5 nights accommodation at Monplaisir, flights from Bristol or London to Toulouse with 1 item of checked luggage, airport transfers, walks/excursions/visits to local places of interest, home cooked gourmet meals at Monplaisir (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and all yoga classes. Lunch and drinks at local restaurants are not included in the price.
