This is one of the most scenic areas of France and we’re passionate about helping our guests have an amazing stay, whether you’re here to relax and recharge or to make the most of the stunning landscape on two legs or a bike. Picturesque towns and villages are evidence of the area’s rich medieval heritage, and markets bursting with local produce and specialities ensure that great food is at the heart of your experience on a self-catered holiday or one of our all-inclusive courses and retreats.
Self Catering Holidays
Stay in our beautifully converted stone barn (sleeps up to 8) set in two acres of peaceful gardens, with use of a private heated pool. For smaller groups our spacious, light-filled apartment (sleeps 2/3) occupies the entire top floor of the house. Both are fully equipped for an independent self-catered holiday so you can relax in style and make the most of everything this fabulous area of France has to offer.
This annual course is run by flautist Janna Hünneke, with guest tutors, for a maximum of 12 participants. Suitable for adults from grade 6 up (or equivalent playing standard), it is friendly and informal with the focus firmly on the pleasure of making music, as well as the joys of gourmet food!
Yoga Retreats
Ellen Blackman‘s gentle flow and restorative classes help you connect to your body, developing an internal awareness which allows you to slow down and move with breath. Her classes are suitable for all ages, levels of fitness and flexibility. Delicious, healthy food to feed your spirit as well as your body is a highlight of both retreats.
If ever a region was suited to riding a bike then this is it, with soaring views and dramatic valleys, roads in very good condition and a fraction of the traffic you’d find in the UK! We can tailor rides to your level of fitness, allowing you to discover the delights of the region on two wheels and come back to a well-deserved gourmet feast in the evening.
Foodat Monplaisir
Marion is passionate about the enjoyment of preparing and sharing food, maximising the flavour and character of local ingredients, including really fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs from Monplaisir’s garden. Gourmet food is a highlight of all the residential courses, and if you’re on a self-catering holiday, have a night off and let Marion cook you a gourmet dinner during your stay! Our half or full day cookery lessons are friendly and informal and the emphasis is firmly on having fun while learning new dishes and skills.
